Chelsea, Phone, Holiday

So:

* Chelsea have a new manager.I think this is a great appointment; it seems like we have now properly replaced Jose Mourinho. I remember posting about Mourinho leaving (here) and felt it could be the end of our trophies. It wasn't we did win a few things since but I never really felt we had replaced the 'Special One'. I think now we have: we have a great young coach, who given the time, can really build a great squad that can go on to dominate England and Europe. For those of you a little more interested, here is a great read on our new manager: Andres Villas-Boas. Welcome to Chelsea, Andres.

* I have a new phone. I decided to go blackberry and I think it was a very good choice. I love it; it's so quick and just feels really professional. I prefer it to my previous iPhone which now looks like a toy phone. The communication and speed it really something and looks and feels very shhhexxy. Here it is:

* I am going on holiday Friday. Cannot wait; it's my first holiday of the year. I am going to Kavos/Corfu/Greece for 8 days with my friends and two of my brothers. I am currently making a playlist for some tunes out there. Roll on Friday, I can't wait to sip some ice cold beer whilst sitting around the pool in glorious heat. Then out at night to partaaayyyy. Just to get me even more excited, the weather is stunning.

The next Tiger?

Rory Mcilroy. The 2011 US Open champion. Magic. Pissed all over the Americans and everyone else. Such great mental strength after what happened at The Masters earlier this year.

This is the 22yr old's first Major. I expect more very soon. It's been a pleasure watching the last 4 nights.

Nights no longer

Shifts that is. Tonight is my last ever night shift hurrah! No more 7pm - 7am, no more catching half hour sleep here half hour sleep there, no more annoying online alarm clock waking me up every hour, no more eating breakfast at 5pm when I wake up, no more driving in the opposite direction to everyone else and no more night shifts!

There have been good things about night shifts but they are out weighed by the bad. This is a picture of what my desk area looks like during one of these said night shifts:

Roll on 7am when I will be once again a day human being...

Uncle Dave

Just to let the world know and to remind myself of this day, I found out Wednesday that I will be an uncle in September/October to a little girl. I cannot wait.

Talking of babies, has anyone seen that google chrome advert, check it out here. It is one of my favourite ads.

Technology, ay!

Youth Football

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13634800.stm

So the FA have come up with another strategic plan to transform England into the best national team in the world. Banning 11 a side games until the age of 13.

Yes banning 11 a side for a while does encourage more touches of the ball, smaller & tighter spaces so will encourage better first touches and teaches the young footballer how to create space for themselves whilst they are learning how to play.

However; only 7 people can play. It is already difficult to try and break into an 11 a side team let alone a 7 a side team. There will be less youngsters playing when they go to 11 a side at the age of 13.

The FA can make as many changes as they want at the grass roots level of football but until changes happen at professional level, our national team will still be left in the shadow of teams such as Spain and Brazil.
